Purchasing analyst

Job Description

• Source and evaluate new suppliers, especially Mandarin-speaking vendors in China or Taiwan.
• Request quotations (RFQs), compare pricing, and negotiate terms, lead times, and payment conditions.
• Maintain supplier relationships and resolve issues related to pricing, quality, or delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance and suggest improvements or alternatives when needed.
• Analyze purchasing trends, costs, and vendor performance to support strategic decisions.
• Prepare regular reports on material costs, supplier reliability, and savings achieved.
• Monitor market trends and exchange rates affecting imported goods.
• Translate and review purchase orders, invoices, and contracts from Mandarin to English (and vice versa).
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of procurement documentation.
• Coordinate with logistics, inventory, and finance departments for proper order tracking, payment, and inventory entry.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
• With or without experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (preferably in food or trading industry).
• Fluent in Mandarin (speaking, reading, and writing) and English/Filipino.
• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and purchasing/inventory systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or local ERP tools).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Knowledge of import documentation, incoterms, and international shipping is an advantage.
