Key Responsibilities
AI Transformation & Automation (Core Mandate)- Lead the AI transformation of the infrastructure and network security function, with a goal of achieving significant productivity gains
- Identify and automate repetitive workflows across vulnerability management, access reviews, asset management, reporting, and compliance
- Build and maintain AI agents for triage, recommendations, access certifications, and reporting
- Design AI agent architectures integrated with security platforms (e.g., Qualys, Guardicore, Axonius, PAM, Cisco Secure Access)
- Transition the team from manual operations to AI-driven engineering
- Establish validation and quality controls for AI outputs
- Track and report on automation effectiveness and productivity improvements
- Own and operate key security platforms (microsegmentation, ZTNA/SASE, vulnerability management, PAM, asset intelligence, email and database security)
- Architect and implement secure network and infrastructure solutions
- Drive cyber hygiene initiatives including scanning, patching, compliance, and asset tracking
- Manage segmentation policies and enforce least-privilege access
- Design and maintain PAM systems
- Use asset intelligence platforms to ensure accurate inventory and visibility
- Troubleshoot complex issues and manage vendor escalations
- Build and lead a high-performing infrastructure and network security team
- Develop team capability through hands-on coaching
- Transition team roles toward AI-driven engineering
- Establish ownership, accountability, and high technical standards
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Execute security roadmap initiatives including platform upgrades and AI deployment
- Manage multiple concurrent initiatives (segmentation, PAM maturity, ZTNA migration, AI rollout)
- Develop structured project plans and timelines
- Remove blockers and drive rapid decision-making
- Partner with IT, DevOps, and application teams
- Own enterprise vulnerability management and cyber hygiene programs
- Drive remediation accountability across teams
- Maintain accurate enterprise asset inventory
- Produce executive-level reporting (increasingly AI-generated)
- Support audits and compliance (FFIEC, PCI DSS, GLBA)
Required Qualifications:
Experience- 8+ years in information security or network engineering
- 3+ years in technical leadership roles
- Strong hands-on experience with security platforms (not just oversight)
- Experience with AI/automation in security or strong capability to learn
- Proven track record in delivering complex security initiatives
- Network security architecture (microsegmentation, ZTNA, firewalls, etc.)
- Vulnerability management (e.g., Qualys)
- Privileged access management tools
- Asset intelligence platforms (e.g., Axonius)
- Database security basics
- Enterprise networking fundamentals
- AI/LLM concepts and automation frameworks
- Knowledge of banking/financial compliance frameworks
