Job Summary:

Director of Commercial Sales

We are looking for a Director of Commercial Sales to join our sales team. This position is a critical role and will be responsible for leading our Account Executive and Sales Associate Teams. This includes developing and executing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and mentoring their team members to achieve their targets.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales leadership, excellent communication skills, and a strategic mindset. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Sales Strategies: Create and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Lead Sales Team: Manage and motivate a team of sales representatives to drive performance and exceed sales targets. Provide guidance, coaching, and training to enhance the skills and capabilities of the sales team.
  • Customer Success Strategy: Develop and implement customer success strategies and initiatives to drive customer satisfaction, retention, and expansion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align customer success objectives with overall business goals.
  • Customer Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process for new customers, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition to our products or services. Develop onboarding resources, training materials, and best practices to facilitate successful adoption and usage.
  • Customer Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs, challenges, and goals, and provide guidance and support to help them achieve success.
  • Retention and Expansion: Implement strategies to drive customer retention and expansion opportunities. Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities based on customer needs and usage patterns.
  • Customer Feedback and Advocacy: Solicit feedback from customers to identify areas for improvement and address issues proactively. Develop programs to encourage customer advocacy, including testimonials, case studies, and referrals.
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics to track progress towards goals. Generate regular reports and insights to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and opportunities.
  • Sales Process Optimization: Streamline sales processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance the overall sales process.
  • Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of industry trends, competitive developments, and best practices in sales and business development. Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve sales strategies and tactics.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications
  • Exhibits character, coachability, integrity, creativity, humility, and grit.
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience providing sales and support to US companies focusing on regulated and certified training.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a customer success team.
  • Proficiency in advanced data analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL with demonstrated ability to extract key business insights through data analysis.
  • Experience working with Salesforce with the ability to leverage the platform to drive customer relationship management, streamline business processes, and enhance sales performance.
  • Deep sense of accountability, strong project management, and a commitment to continuous process improvement
  • Effective multi-tasking and excellent time management skills with strong learning capabilities, and ability to adapt to change quickly and effectively.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service and support.
  • Knowledge of the eLearning industry and/or enterprise software sales preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, MBA, or equivalent experience.
