Description
The purpose of the job of a Lifting Supervisor at Colas Rail Philippines Inc. is to oversee and coordinate all lifting operations on site, ensuring that lifts are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.This role involves supervising lifting teams, monitoring equipment condition, enforcing safety procedures, and supporting the successful execution of lifting tasks to prevent accidents and ensure smooth project progress.
- Supervise and coordinate daily lifting operations on site
- Ensure all lifting activities comply with safety standards and company procedures
- Inspect lifting equipment before use to confirm proper condition and certification
- Monitor the work of riggers, crane operators, and other lifting personnel
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings related to lifting tasks
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses during lifting operations
- Assist in implementing lifting plans developed by the Lifting Engineer
- Ensure proper use of lifting accessories and adherence to load limits
- Maintain accurate records of lifting activities, equipment inspections, and personnel certifications
- Support training and development of lifting team members
- Communicate effectively with site management and other teams to coordinate lifts
- Respond promptly to any lifting-related issues or emergencies on site
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or vocational training in rigging, lifting operations, or heavy equipment operation preferred
- Certifications related to lifting and rigging (e.g., LEEA, crane operator licenses) highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of health and safety standards in construction or rail industry
- Completion of safety training courses such as OSHA or NEBOSH is advantageous
- Practical experience supervising lifting and rigging operations on construction or rail projects
- Strong understanding of lifting equipment, rigging techniques, and load handling
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry standards related to lifting
- Experience conducting equipment inspections and identifying potential hazards
- Ability to coordinate and lead lifting teams effectively on site
- Familiarity with emergency response procedures during lifting operations
- Good communication skills for liaising with site personnel and management
- Ability to enforce safety policies and ensure compliance on site
- Experience in maintaining accurate records and documentation of lifting activities
- Basic troubleshooting skills to address issues during lifting tasks
