Schedule: Morning Shift

Job Description:

The candidate is expected to manage and prioritise across all three domains autonomously. Focus shifts based on business urgency — cybersecurity and IT stability take precedence at all times, with development work progressing during stable periods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain alignment with the ACSC Essential Eight mitigation framework
• Identify, assess, and remediate cybersecurity gaps across web application development and deployment pipelines
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk reviews
• Administer endpoint protection and threat response (e.g. Microsoft Defender, Huntress, managed SOC integration)
• Collaborate with the offshore development team (Vietnam-based) to embed secure coding practices

• Manage and maintain network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, and VPN
• Perform system administration across the Microsoft 365 environment (Intune, Entra ID/Active Directory, app controls, conditional access policies), on-premises/cloud servers, and backup systems
• Monitor and maintain system health, uptime, and performance across IT and OT environments
• Provide general IT helpdesk and end-user support on an as-needed basis (the team is largely tech-savvy; this is not expected to be a heavy workload)

• Assist with front-end and back-end web application development as required
• Utilise AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate development workflows

Qualifications and requirements:

• Relevant industry certifications: CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, or CEH
• Web application development capability (front-end and/or back-end)
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor

• Self-starter who takes full ownership without requiring direction or technical guidance
• Able to triage and reprioritise fluidly across security, infrastructure, and development demands
• Security-first mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communicator — able to translate technical issues into plain language for the business owner
• Collaborative — works effectively with a remote, cross-cultural development team
• Curious, growth-oriented mindset with interest in emerging security threats and technologies

Non-negotiable skills and requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Solid understanding of the ACSC Essential Eight mitigation strategies and their practical application
• Hands-on experience across cybersecurity and IT systems administration, including endpoint protection and threat response (e.g. Huntress, Microsoft Defender), managed SOC integration, network administration, IT troubleshooting, and Microsoft 365 environment management (Intune, Entra ID, Active Directory)
• Experience securing both IT and OT environments
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a combined cybersecurity and IT support role
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
