Head of HR - Shared Services
We're looking for an experienced HR Head to lead the shared services HR function across a diversified group of businesses that includes construction, real estate, retail, hospitality, and commercial centers. This is a senior leadership role that requires strong strategic thinking, a deep understanding of HR operations, and the ability to support multiple business units with varied workforce needs.
The ideal candidate brings both structure and flexibility - able to design group-wide policies and processes while remaining responsive to the unique demands of each sector. The candidate must also be comfortable with exploring new technologies, systems and processes to improve operating efficiencies and service levels that exceed Group level expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage HR shared services across the group, ensuring consistent and high-quality support to all business units.
- Oversee core HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, employee records, and HRIS systems.
- Collaborate with business unit HR leads and operations heads to align talent needs, workforce planning, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Develop and implement group-level policies, templates, and service standards across all HR functions.
- Drive continuous improvement across HR services and systems to enhance efficiency and employee experience. Continually look for and explore new technologies, systems, processes and practices that can be applied to the organization to dramatically improve productivity, efficiencies and customer experience.
- Support organizational development initiatives such as job leveling, performance frameworks, and talent mobility.
- Maintain strong compliance with labor laws and data protection standards across all jurisdictions.
- Monitor key HR metrics and service-level performance across the shared services function.
- Lead and mentor the central HR services team, including specialists in payroll, data management, recruitment support, and employee relations.
- Work with the Group CHRO on projects related to systems implementation, restructuring, or group-wide change initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced certifications or a Master's degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of HR experience, including leadership roles in shared services or group-level HR operations.
- Minimum 3+ years of demonstrated shared services HR leadership experience is required.
- Familiarity with high-volume, multi-business environments (preferably across multiple sectors).
- Strong understanding of HR systems (HRIS, payroll, digital tools) and process optimization.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience building and leading centralized HR teams while partnering closely with decentralized HR or business units.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative and service-oriented approach.
- Exposure to ERP/HRIS platforms (SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, etc.)
- Experience in change management or centralization projects
- Working knowledge of labor laws across different industries or regions
- Background in process audits, service SLAs, or shared service KPIs
