Tax Accountant (PEZA & Compliance)

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to ensure full compliance with Philippine tax regulations and support overall financial reporting. The role involves handling tax filings, audits, reconciliations, and coordination with regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and file accurate and timely tax returns in compliance with BIR requirements
  • Perform tax reconciliations (GL vs. MAP/RELIEF) and recommend necessary adjustments
  • Prepare and submit EZMPR reports and PEZA annual reports
  • Ensure proper tax documentation, including e-invoicing and reporting procedures
  • Coordinate with external auditors and government agencies during tax audits and assessments
  • Prepare supporting documents for tax assessments and resolve discrepancies in financial records
  • Analyze financial statements and transactions to identify potential tax issues
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries
  • Manage asset-related compliance aligned with PEZA and financial reporting standards
  • Attend meetings with BIR offices regarding audits and tax assessments
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing required documentation
  • Maintain and update transfer pricing documentation and requirements
  • Monitor and manage tax calendar deadlines and compliance requirements
  • Oversee business permit renewals and ensure timely submission
  • Stay updated on Philippine tax laws and assess their impact on operations
  • Handle annual BIR registration updates and ensure SEC compliance
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (CPA is an advantage)
  • At least 5 years of experience in general accounting or taxation, preferably in a BPO or Shared Services environment
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and GAAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
