Sr. Project Manager (with Banking Industry background)

About the role:

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing large-scale technology initiatives from conception through delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering exceptional value to our clients. This role is pivotal in driving project success and establishing best practices across our portfolio of banking engagements.

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage end-to-end project delivery across multiple banking and financial services initiatives, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets and quality standards
2. Develop comprehensive project plans, define scope, establish milestones and communicate deliverables to stakeholders at all levels
3. Oversee cross-functional teams including developers, quality assurance specialists, and business analysts to ensure coordinated execution
4. Identify, assess and mitigate project risks proactively, implementing contingency plans to minimise impact on deliverables
5. Provide regular status reporting and transparent communication to senior leadership and banking clients regarding project progress, challenges and resolutions
6. Ensure compliance with banking regulations, security requirements and governance frameworks throughout project lifecycle
7. Mentor and coach junior project managers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
8. Manage stakeholder expectations and relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for banking partners and internal teams
9. Implement and optimise project management methodologies and tools to enhance efficiency and visibility

What we're looking for:

1. Minimum 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 5+ years in the banking, financial services or related regulated industry
2. Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex technology projects with budgets exceeding multi-million peso range
3. Strong knowledge of banking systems, fintech solutions, regulatory compliance frameworks and financial services industry standards
4. Expertise in project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches, with demonstrated ability to adapt methodology to project requirements
5. Advanced proficiency with project management tools and software (such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or equivalent platforms)
6. Excellent leadership and team management capabilities with demonstrated ability to motivate diverse, geographically distributed teams
7. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail
9. Professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) is highly preferred
10. Experience with banking compliance, risk management and audit processes is advantageous
11. Familiarity with digital transformation and enterprise technology implementation in banking environments.
