Job Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities, particularly in toll manufacturing partnerships. The role serves as the primary interface between the company and prospective or existing clients, ensuring alignment between client requirements and operational capabilities.The position requires strong sales orientation, technical understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to analyze cost structures, production timelines, and process efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Growth- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, particularly in toll manufacturing and contract production partnerships.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the company’s client base.
- Generate leads, conduct prospect meetings, and convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.
- Achieve sales targets and revenue growth objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and internal teams.
- Understand client product requirements, technical specifications, and production expectations.
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders to ensure long-term collaboration.
- Work closely with operations, production, engineering, compliance and supply chain teams to evaluate project feasibility.
- Coordinate product development timelines, manufacturing capacity, and production schedules with clients.
- Analyze production costs, operational efficiency, and profitability of potential projects.
- Apply cost analysis and time-and-motion principles to determine viable pricing and project feasibility.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and project business cases.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the toll manufacturing sector.
- Provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.
- Prepare regular sales reports, pipeline updates, and client engagement reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client requirements, contracts, and negotiations
Qualifications
Education- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Business or management training is an advantage.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with or within a toll manufacturing company or FMCG is highly preferred.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and operational workflows.
- Knowledge of costing, process efficiency, and time-and-motion analysis.
- Ability to translate technical manufacturing capabilities into commercial opportunities.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to evaluate cost, time, and operational feasibility.
- Strong coordination, communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Results-driven and proactive approach to business development.
