Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Referral Administrator to manage and process patient referrals to specialists efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare administration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with both patients and providers to ensure timely care.

Schedule:

  • Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (US Eastern Time) with a 1-hour unpaid break (40 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process patient referrals to specialists, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
  • Communicate with patients to explain referral procedures and provide necessary information.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, specialists, and insurance companies to facilitate referrals.
  • Track referral status and follow up to confirm appointment completion.
  • Maintain accurate records in electronic health systems and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Provide administrative support to the healthcare team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in patient referral coordination or a related healthcare administrative role.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with a US-based client or healthcare provider.
  • Basic knowledge or experience in gastroenterology is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare processes, insurance requirements, and referral workflows.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and providers.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office tools optimisation
  • Experience managing social media content for small businesses
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
