Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Licensed Civil Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer
  • Minimum of two (2) years of construction experience in retail, commercial, or mall fit‑out projects
  • Experience in site supervision, contractor coordination, and compliance with mall construction requirements
  • Working knowledge of construction drawings, technical specifications, and scheduling tools (e.g., Gantt charts)
  • Experience in budget monitoring and basic construction cost control
  • Willing to conduct regular site visits and inspections as required by project needs

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager, Construction supports the planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of retail construction projects to ensure completion in accordance with approved plans, schedules, budgets, and compliance requirements

Job Description
  1. Prepare and submit weekly construction status reports, including updated Gantt charts, site images, and progress summaries
  2. Coordinate with mall management and lessors before, during, and after construction to comply with site regulations, construction guidelines, and turnover requirements
  3. Align construction project details and schedules with Operations, Supply Chain, Loss Prevention, SM EDD, and other concerned departments to maintain uninterrupted project execution
  4. Conduct regular site inspections to verify construction progress against the approved timeline and identify deviations
  5. Ensure approved construction plans, shop drawings, and blueprints are completed and available prior to construction commencement
  6. Coordinate processing and completion of permits, clearances, and required mall or government documentation in coordination with contractors and lessors
  7. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure construction activities follow the approved schedule and scope of work
  8. Monitor contractor work progress and raise issues related to delays, non-compliance, or deviations from approved plans
  9. Track and monitor construction-related expenses against the approved project budget
  10. Review contractor billings and progress claims to ensure alignment with actual site accomplishment
