Role Overview
As Business Analyst you will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing customer requirements, identifying areas for product improvement, and translating these insights into actionable specifications for development teams.By leveraging data analytics, you will monitor key performance indicators, assess market trends, and ensure our product and services aligns with user demands and company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with customers, industry stakeholders, and internal teams to deeply understand their needs, challenges, and workflows related to the freight product.
- Translation & Documentation: Break down complex customer requirements into detailed, developer-friendly specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria, bridging the gap for a dev team with limited freight industry exposure.
- Industry Expertise: Leverage your knowledge (or willingness to learn fast) of freight and logistics to educate and guide developers, ensuring solutions align with real-world use cases.
- Process Mapping: Analyze and document current freight processes within the legacy product, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the liaison between customers, the Chief Delivery Officer, and the tech team, ensuring clarity and alignment on priorities and deliverables.
- Support Delivery: Work with the Chief Delivery Officer to prioritize features, manage backlogs, and support the agile development process for timely, high-quality releases.
- Problem Solving: Address ambiguities in requirements by proactively seeking clarification from customers and proposing practical solutions for the dev team.
- Experience: 3+ years as a Business Analyst, ideally in tech, freight, export, or a related field. Experience with legacy software products is a plus.
- Freight Knowledge: Experience with freight, shipping, or supply chain processes—or a strong ability to quickly grasp industry concepts.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills in English, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for developers and stakeholders alike.
- Technical Acumen: Comfortable working with software development teams, understanding tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar, and translating business needs into technical requirements.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a knack for breaking down challenges and finding workable solutions.
- Bonus: Experience in agile methodologies and working with distributed teams.
