Job Description
The role of a Security Technician is to support MSG team members and Security team by responding to incidents and alarms to protect the organization’s information assets. The Security Technician role provides support to employees and departments to maintain account and device security, resolve vulnerabilities and respond promptly to IoC (Indication of Compromise) alerts.The technician works closely with Cybersecurity leadership to monitor controls across systems to support business and cybersecurity strategies. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to critically assess scenarios and respond with appropriate actions to secure information and intellectual property.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and respond to Security Incidents and alerts, provide troubleshooting, and document resolution consistent with SOP
- Work with internal customer and technical teams to restore services in a timely and secure manner
- Monitor remediation of security vulnerabilities to minimize risks to operating environments
- Facilitate resolution of issues, escalate delays in a timely manner
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure remediation of identified vulnerabilities within noted timeframe and in adherence with information security policies
- Provide accurate time tracking of all work hours
- Enforcing company policies and procedures related to security and access management
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security news and best practices
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or related field
- 3 years’ experience as Support Desk Technician in an Enterprise IT company
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience using ITSM ticketing systems
- Experience with Microsoft Admin (Defender, Entra ID, Intune)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel and Word
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Preferences:
- CompTIA+, ICS2 CC or equivalent certificate preferred
