Job Summary
The Cost Accounting Supervisor oversees the accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of cost-related data to support financial decision-making and operational efficiency. This role manages the cost accounting team to ensure proper tracking of production costs, inventory valuation, and cost control measures.The supervisor collaborates with various departments such as procurement, production, and finance to monitor budgets, identify cost variances, and implement corrective actions. This position is critical in maintaining cost accuracy and supporting profitability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide the cost accounting team in daily operations
- Monitor and analyze production costs, materials, labor, and overhead
- Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and inventory valuations
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and finance for cost control
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial audits
- Recommend process improvements to enhance cost efficiency
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience in cost accounting or supervisory roles
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proficient in accounting software and Excel
- Knowledge of inventory management and cost control
