Inventory and Cost Accounting Analyst
I. JOB IDENTIFICATION
Position Title : Inventory and Cost Accounting AnalystJob Level : S2
Job Classification : Supervisory
Reports To : Inventory Head
Supervises : None
II. JOB PURPOSE
Assure precise cost accounting and inventory value procedures for financial reporting, profitability
analysis, and decision-making. Additionally, ensure that all inventory records are accurate, including
reconciliation of different inventory accounts.
III. ACCOUNTABILITIESA. Inventory Record Accuracy
Ensures that all inventory transactions are completely recorded in the system such as purchases,RTV (Return to Vendor), disposal/damages, and other inventory adjustments.
Ensure the accuracy of inventory records, including reconciliation of data between financial
system and operation’s system.
Ensures that necessary copies of RTVs, Merchandise Disposal Slip (MDS) and sales summary
reports are distributed to concerned parties monthly.
Implements an effective filing system of all records to facilitate swift retrieval of documents when
needed.
Assists in month-end and year-end closing.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to inventory and costs (e.g., cost of goods
sold (COGS), margin analysis).
Prepares regular inventory listings, especially year-end inventory list for submission to the BIR.B. Cost Accounting Efficiency and Accuracy
Counterchecks debit/credit memo and endorses approval by superior and submits to
accounts payable.
Counterchecks accuracy of consignment/concessionaire sales report, if applicable.
Counterchecks accuracy of cost for MTS, RTV, DMS, Pilfered items and other inventory
transactions.
Coordinate with the other departments if there’s a need for cost validation.C. Others
Operates selected equipment used by the department such as laptops, printers, etc. in an
efficient and safe manner.
Participates in periodic and annual cyclic count of inventory in the store/warehouse when
necessary and as directed by the superiors.
Identify areas for improvement in inventory management and cost accounting processes and
recommend and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Performs other related duties as may be assigned either in support of divisional goal attainment
or for own personal or professional training, education and development as planned by the
superior.
IV. CRITICAL CHALLENGES
Accuracy of data entered in the system.
Timeliness and accuracy of various cost accounting & inventory reports.
Handling employee conflict, motivating and uplifting their morale.V. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education / Professional Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accountancy
With at least 1-2 years’ experience in accounting, preferably with
involvement in inventory accounting in a food industry
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Attentive to details
With excellent analytical skills
With adequate communication and interpersonal skills
Strong time management skills
Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.
Practical knowledge of MS Office operations specifically Excel, Word and PPT.
Willing to report for work onsite
Willing to be assigned to Makati City – Head Office.
