- Follow recipes and prepare meals according to standards.
- Monitor food while cooking to ensure proper temperature and consistency.
- Plate dishes attractively and ensure portion control.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff and servers.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding food prep, delays, or issues.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.
- Dispose of waste properly and ensure proper storage of food items.
- 2-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, cafeteria, or food service environment (may vary depending on employer).
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (reading recipes, measuring ingredients)
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to follow recipes, portion sizes, and cooking procedures accurately.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Good time management and teamwork skills.
