About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Consultant to support multinational organizations in designing, implementing, and improving global trade compliance programs. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in import/export compliance, customs regulations, and trade program development who enjoy working in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consulting services to clients on developing and enhancing trade compliance programs.
  • Conduct trade compliance risk assessments and global compliance reviews.
  • Identify compliance gaps and recommend practical remediation plans.
  • Develop policies, procedures, work instructions, and guidance documents.
  • Support implementation of trade management systems and compliance tools.
  • Develop and facilitate trade compliance training for client stakeholders.
  • Design and implement compliance monitoring and audit processes.
  • Review and validate Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature (HTN) and Export Control Commodity Number (ECCN) classifications.
  • Lead client projects by managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
  • Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional consulting support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics & Communications).
  • At least 5 years of experience in trade compliance within a multinational company.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature (HTN) classification
  • Export Control Commodity Number (ECCN) classification
  • Restricted Party Screening (RPS)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. and/or global import and export regulations.
  • Experience creating policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred
  • Licensed Customs Broker or holder of a recognized trade compliance certification (e.g., CUSECO).
  • Experience implementing or using trade management software.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification.
