Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Team Lead to oversee daily trade compliance operations and ensure adherence to global import and export regulations. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for customs compliance, trade documentation, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence while driving continuous process improvements.

This role requires strong leadership, technical trade compliance expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced multinational environment.

• Lead and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Trade Compliance team.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
• Review and oversee import and export transactions to ensure accurate processing and documentation.
• Provide guidance on HS/HTS classification, customs requirements, and trade compliance matters.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure business processes remain compliant with applicable trade laws.
• Handle complex compliance issues, operational escalations, and risk assessments.
• Support customs audits, internal compliance reviews, and regulatory inquiries.
• Develop, review, and maintain trade compliance procedures, policies, and documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
• Monitor team performance, service levels, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Legal, Finance, and external customs brokers and freight forwarders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Customs Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Trade Compliance, Global Trade Compliance, Customs Compliance, Import/Export Operations, or International Trade.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Import and export regulations
• Customs compliance
• HS/HTS tariff classification
• Customs documentation
• International trade regulations
• Duties and taxes
• Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and government agencies.
• Knowledge of customs valuation, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), import/export licensing, and trade compliance audits is an advantage.
• Experience with export controls (EAR, ECCN, Dual-Use), sanctions screening, or restricted-party screening is highly preferred.
• Experience using trade compliance systems such as SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, CargoWise, or similar platforms is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in a multinational or shared services environment is preferred.
