BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (ENERGY SOLUTIONS)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and well-connected Energy Solutions Manager to lead our business development initiatives in the renewable energy sector—with a strong and specific emphasis on solar PV projects. The role will also cover bioenergy and integrated energy solutions, but deep experience in solar project development, sales, or implementation is essential.

You will help build long-term partnerships with multinational corporations and top local conglomerates across the Philippines.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, solar industry expertise, and excellent relationship-building skills. You will play a key role in identifying and developing opportunities — from initial engagement through to proposal, negotiation, and contract finalization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement business development strategies for solar, bioenergy, and integrated energy solutions.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with decision-makers across key corporate accounts and strategic territories.
  • Conduct technical, legal, and commercial assessments to support successful project delivery.
  • Understand client operations and collaborate with the operations team to deliver tailored techno-commercial proposals.
  • Stay updated on market trends, government policies, and industry developments related to renewable energy.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, utilities, and industry associations to support project advancement.
  • Build and oversee partnerships with corporate client, EPC contractors and channel partners.
  • Lead the development and submission of tender-based opportunities.
  • Contribute to business growth by achieving revenue targets and delivering excellent client service.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain executive-level relationships
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills in high-value B2B environments
  • Deep understanding of contract structures, financial modeling (IRR, buyback, deemed generation), and project development
  • In-depth understanding of solar project structures, site assessment, financial modeling (IRR, buyback, deemed generation), and implementation cycles
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple, complex projects independently
  • Excellent communicator, presenter, and problem solver
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in local languages is a plus
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and other applications.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the renewable energy industry, with demonstrated expertise in Solar PV (rooftop or ground-mounted), bioenergy, or thermal energy solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sales, Business Management, or a related technical or commercial discipline
  • Proven success in key account management and in closing high-value, large-scale renewable energy deals
  • Strong academic and professional credentials
  • Solid understanding of local regulatory frameworks and permitting processes related to renewable energy projects in the Philippines
  • Familiarity with energy performance contracts (EPCs), power purchase agreements (PPAs), and O&M models
  • Experience working with multinational corporations, utilities, or large industrial clients
  • Exposure to carbon accounting, ESG reporting, or net zero frameworks is a plus
  • Prior engagement with government agencies, regulatory bodies, or industry associations is an advantage
  • Background in developing or responding to tenders, including proposal writing and pricing strategy
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP) or training in energy project finance is a strong plus
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical designs, yield simulations, or feasibility assessments to non-technical stakeholders.
