Sales Account Manager – Mid-Market
BukuPay is in the Philippines. We are not testing the market — we are building it, from the first
merchant relationship to the first hundred. This role is one of the early bets we are making on
the ground. You are here to own the mid-market in the Philippines. That means building a pipeline from
scratch, closing chains, and getting them live — without a playbook, without a waiting list of
warm leads, and without someone above you to approve every commercial decision. You will
figure it out and move.
About BukuWarung
BukuWarung is building the operating system for small merchants across South-East Asia —
software, payments, and financial services in one platform. We have spent five years building
and finding product-market fit with millions of MSMEs in Indonesia. BukuPay is how that
product comes to the Philippines, starting with mid-market chains that are ready to move
beyond cash and fragmented POS systems. We are targeting $150M ARR and a 2030 IPO on
a principle of Profitable Growth — and we are in growth, not pre-growth.

What You Will Own
Pipeline and Acquisition
Your starting point is a blank sheet of paper. You will map the mid-market landscape across
Metro Manila — F&B chains, retail operators, services businesses; typically 3–30 outlets —
identify the accounts worth prioritising, and build your pipeline through outbound, referrals, and
ground-level presence. You are not inheriting a territory. You are building one. The first few
months will tell us whether you can do that; the next few will tell us how well.
Deal Structuring and Close
You run the full sales cycle. That means discovery conversations with owners and ops leads —
not just procurement — then demo, proposal, and commercial negotiation where you can
defend the MDR, explain the pricing tiers, and close without needing a manager to rescue the
deal. You understand what the margin impact looks like for BukuPay, and what it looks like for
the merchant. Both need to work, or you don't close.
Activation, Retention, and Market Intelligence
Closing the deal is not the finish line. You own outlet activation post-close — working with
onboarding and operations teams until merchants are live and transacting. You also feed back
what you are seeing on the ground: what is blocking deals, what GCash or other competitors
are offering, what your merchants actually need that the product does not yet do. That
intelligence shapes product roadmap and pricing decisions at the leadership level. You are not
a reporter — you are a trusted source.
The Core Thing
You are someone who builds from nothing. When a prospect list does not exist, you make one.
When a deal stalls, you diagnose why and move it. When a merchant goes live, you make sure
they actually use it. Generic sales process will not work here — the Philippine market is still
being figured out and you are one of the people figuring it out.
Who You Are- You have 3–4 years closing and managing B2B accounts, ideally in payments, fintech,
SaaS, or F&B/retail tech. What matters more than the industry is that you have built a
pipeline from the ground up, not just managed one you inherited.- You have closed deals with multi-outlet clients — chains, franchise groups, or regional
operators — and you have navigated the gap between the owner who signs and the ops
manager who runs the rollout.- You understand the commercial mechanics: MDR, interchange, pricing tiers, margin
impact. You are not rattled by a merchant who pushes back on rate — you have had that
conversation and won it with logic, not discounting.- You are specific about your numbers. You know your conversion rate, your average sales
- You are based in Metro Manila and willing to spend real time in the field. This is not a role
you can do from a desk.
What Sets You Apart- You have existing relationships with mid-market F&B, retail, or services operators in
- You have run a merchant pilot or a phased rollout at scale — you know what goes wrong
- You have working knowledge of QRPh, InstaPay, or POS integration workflows.
- You have worked in or alongside franchise systems or F&B chain operations.
What We Offer
We are not the best pay masters in the market and we don't intend to be. We do ensure that
you have meaningful ownership in the company which can lead to a better outcome financially
over the long term. Our people policies are skewed towards rewarding high-performing people
even in the short to medium term. If you build the Philippine mid-market successfully, you will
be in a position to own more of it as the team grows.
