What Supply Chain Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Operations function. Operations provides a premier level of service to our customers with optimal levels of inventory by collaborating with our internal and external partners to purchase pharmaceutical and medical products from our Supplier partners.

Along with our Supplier partners, the team works with Sourcing, Customer Service, Finance, DC Operations, and Sales to ensure our customers’ needs are met, our processes are efficient, supplier performance is evaluated, and products arrive in the right place, at the right cost, at the right time and in the right quantities.

  • Lead a team professionally and demonstrate Cardinal Health’s Leadership Essentials
  • Work to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand and breaking them down into smaller pieces.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders and build strategic alliances domestically and globally; negotiate to build broad-based support and/or persuade others to influence important outcomes.
  • Ensure clients (Sourcing, Suppliers, Distribution Centers, Carriers, etc.) have a positive experience; commit to meet and/or exceed client expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while providing flawless transactions and services; manage resources to optimize cost effectiveness.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of protocols, programs, or deliverables; compare measurement results to standards and take immediate action to close identified gaps.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing a Supply Chain team in our Philippines location where the team is expected to come into our Manilla office 1 day/week and work US Eastern Standard Time hours.
  • Manage a team of 1 Supervisor (M1), 6 Sr. Analyst (P2), and 8 Analyst (P1) level resources with growth expected in our new fiscal year (July 2025) that will include additional Supervisors and analysts focused on transportation and our Specialty business.
  • Lead a team focused on several points in our supply chain. Specifically following up with suppliers on late purchase orders, updating product availability information, scoring suppliers based on performance, setting up new suppliers and items, IDOC failures, freight payment disputes, invoice auditing, and other data related research. Overall supports the Purchasing, Inventory Management, and Transportation teams.
  • Establish a positive team culture with continuous learning opportunities and cross training to ensure sustainment of processes.
  • Establish and track employees’ success to team metrics, upward results reporting showing business benefits.
  • Address employee concerns and navigate diverse personalities to ensure team members are held accountable to the standards set forth by our policies.
  • Maintain visibility across extended Operations team to see opportunities for team’s career progression and productivity.
  • Address both external partners and internal customers’ feedback and complaints promptly and effectively. Track and research open issues to define risks, opportunities and ensure resolutions achieved.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operations efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or relevant field with 8+ years’ experience
  • Supply Chain experience in Planning, Procurement, Inventory Management, Transportation, and/or Operational Excellence preferred.
  • Strong people leadership experience; 5+ years
  • Technical understanding to identify processes we can automate.
  • Fast learner that picks up new systems and processes quickly
  • Analytical skills to analyze data trends with the use of reporting & analytical tools (ex. Excel, Business Objects, Looker, etc.) and initiate action from findings.
  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships, communicate effectively at all levels, and influence outcomes for internal and external customers.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to identify and meet milestones.
  • Identify and drive improvements using root cause problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills
  • Ability to work US eastern standard time hours (all 8+ hours)
