Assistant Merchandise Planning and Control Manager
Position Overview
We are looking for an Assistant Merchandise Planning and Control Manager to support the execution, coordination, monitoring, and governance of merchandise planning and control activities. This role ensures timely execution of sales analysis, forecasting, inventory monitoring, markdown implementation, replenishment planning, allocation execution, and merchandise reporting.The Assistant Manager will oversee day-to-day operations of the MPCD team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of reports and deliverables, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to support seasonal launches and inventory activities.
- Key Responsibilities
- Merchandise Planning Coordination
- Support execution of category planning, assortment planning, and merchandise allocation.
- Monitor implementation progress of approved merchandise strategies and seasonal launch schedules.
- Sales & Inventory Monitoring
- Oversee preparation of sales dashboards, category reports, sell-through analysis, and inventory monitoring.
- Review sales and inventory trends, risks, and stock movement concerns.
- Forecasting & Allocation Support
- Assist in forecasting reviews, allocation planning, and replenishment execution.
- Ensure allocation accuracy and inventory balancing across channels.
- Markdown & Inventory Productivity Execution
- Coordinate markdown schedules and monitor execution progress.
- Review inventory aging reports and sell-through trends to support productivity initiatives.
- Report Governance & Validation
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of reports and merchandise analysis.
- Review data accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
- Team Coordination & Supervision
- Provide day-to-day guidance to Category Analysts and Merchandising Assistants.
- Monitor task execution, timelines, and operational deliverables.
- Support process improvements and operational discipline within the department.
- What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in merchandising, merchandise planning, inventory analysis, or retail operations.
- Supervisory or team coordination experience is an advantage.
- Background in retail, apparel, fashion, or FMCG industry preferred.
- Strong analytical and inventory management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and merchandise reporting tools.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and leadership skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong validation and review capability.
- Ability to manage multiple reports, timelines, and operational priorities.
