Job Overview
The Legal Officer is responsible for handling and monitoring all legal affairs of the company. The role ensures legal and regulatory compliance, represents the company in legal proceedings, and collaborates closely with the Legal & Corporate Affairs team in managing contracts, litigation, and risk exposure.
Key Responsibilities- Asset & Risk Management
- Ensure company assets are protected through proper insurance coverage
- Manage insurance contracts and claims
- Handle small claims and collection cases
- Contract Management
- Draft, review, and administer contracts and commercial documents
- Provide legal guidance on contract interpretation to internal stakeholders
- Ensure agreements with vendors and service providers are secure and compliant
- Litigation & Compliance
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and court-related activities
- Monitor cases handled by external counsel
- Conduct legal research and mitigate potential risks
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Data Privacy & Intellectual Property
- Ensure compliance with the Data Privacy Act (DPA)
- Protect company intellectual properties (trademarks, copyrights, patents)
- Lead data privacy initiatives and impact assessments
- Legal Advisory & Employee Relations
- Provide legal advice on labor and employee relations matters
- Oversee administrative hearing procedures
- Guide leadership on policies, regulatory requirements, and legal risks
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law
- Licensed Lawyer / Bar Passer
- Preferably with 6–8 years of experience in corporate law, litigation, and government transactions
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities
