Sales Manager – Live Shrimp

Job Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for expanding and maintaining live shrimp sales to hotels, restaurants, and wet markets. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring a consistent supply of premium-quality live shrimp.

The Sales Manager will develop strategies to strengthen the company’s presence in the HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, Catering) and market sectors while meeting revenue and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Development and Strategy
  • Develop and implement targeted sales plans for hotels, restaurants, and market vendors.
  • Identify new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with key decisionmakers.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine sales strategies.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain long-term partnerships with chefs, purchasing managers, distributors, and market vendors.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules to meet client requirements while maintaining profit margins.
  • Provide excellent after-sales support and resolve customer concerns promptly.
Operations Coordination
  • Work closely with logistics and farm operations to ensure live shrimp are delivered fresh, on time, and in the required volumes.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to align supply with demand.
  • Oversee the proper handling, storage, and transport standards for live shrimp to maintain quality.
Reporting and Budgeting
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and market analysis for management.
  • Track sales performance against targets and recommend adjustments to improve results.
  • Manage budgets and monitor expenses for cost-effective operations.
Team Leadership
  • Train and guide sales representatives or coordinators in customer engagement and live product handling.
  • Conduct sales meetings and performance reviews to ensure objectives are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Fisheries, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of proven sales experience in seafood, aquaculture, or fresh/live food products.
  • Strong connections or experience within the hotel, restaurant, and wet market sectors.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of live shrimp handling and transport standards is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours as required.
