Position Title: Business Development Assistant (Onsite)
Primary Objective
The Business Development Assistant is responsible for generating and progressing service revenue opportunities within the Service Department of one of our Australian clients. The role is focused on proactively chasing commissioning leads, preparing and following up service proposals, re-engaging lapsed maintenance customers, and supporting clear pipeline visibility to drive sustainable revenue growth.

- Proposal follow-up compliance (100% within defined timeframe)

Accountabilities
Commissioning Lead Conversion- Monitor and track new pump installations requiring maintenance
- Proactively contact customers to secure Service/Maintenance bookings
- Prepare and issue service quotations (repairs, maintenance, callouts)
- Follow up all issued proposals within defined timeframes
- Maintain accurate records of proposal status
- Escalate high-value or at-risk opportunities appropriately
- Track conversion rates and provide weekly pipeline updates
- Identify customers with expired or lapsed maintenance agreements
- Contact customers to re-establish service contracts
- Promote preventative maintenance benefits
- Maintain a live pipeline report for the Service Manager
- Identify upsell opportunities from existing clients
- Support service contract renewals
- Assist in developing structured follow-up cadences
- Help identify gaps in service coverage across customer base
- Ensure prompt response to service-related enquiries
- Maintain professional and proactive communication
- Ensure customer details and system records are accurate
- Liaise effectively between service team and customers
Education, Experience and Skills
Essential- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills (top priority)
- At least 4-5 years of experience in sales support, service coordination, or business development support
- Strong follow-up discipline
- High attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience in technical or industrial service environments
- Exposure to pumps, fire systems, or mechanical services
- Experience with maintenance contracts
- Experience with CRM or ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite)
