About the Role:
The Assistant Manager - Accounts Payable is responsible for, but not limited to, assisting the Accounts Payable Manager in overseeing the accounts payable day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate and timely management of processes from invoices to payment, including disbursement validation, tax return preparation, and compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works together with Accounts Payable Manager in reviewing and verifying invoices, expense reports, reimbursements, and supplier reconciliation production management for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate approval
- Oversees the completion of assigned processing tasks by direct reports, ensuring efficiency and adherence to Service Level Agreement (SLA)
- Assists in the validation and processing of company transactions per market segment
- Monitors AP aging to ensure alignment with AP subsidiary ledger
- Ensures all accounts payable functions and processes are documented, updated, and shared with the team for process improvement and continuous learning
- Guides and oversees the team by leading process enhancements, with the goal of maximizing efficiency and effectiveness
- Manages performance and development of direct reports through feedback and coaching; investigates long-standing or unusual account balances
- Creates and organizes detailed plans, including contingency measures and work schedules to ensure coverage of key tasks
- Assists in the review, development, and implementation of process improvements
- Oversees month-end activities and ensures accurate and timely report submission; fosters strong partnerships for expense accrual and closing
- Develops a systematic approach to manage issues or crises effectively
- Ensures adherence to internal and external controls
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Graduate of BS Accountancy, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, or equivalent; CPA license is an advantage
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a Senior Supervisor or Assistant Manager role
- Technology savvy and proficient in store operations software ● Above average oral and written communication skills
- Results-oriented, analytical, and strong problem-solving skills
- Logical thinker with keen attention to detail
- Team-player with strong interpersonal skills
The incumbent is expected to report for work daily according to the schedule set by the employer, must be physically and mentally fit to perform assigned tasks, willing to travel for field work when needed, and may be requested to work overtime.
