The IT Asset Management Associate is responsible for ensuring that technology assets are tracked, received, recovered, deployed, and retired in a controlled manner as well as fulfill requests for ordering hardware/software. This person processes all incoming equipment, validates each shipment, and updates the asset inventory database.

Update ticketing system with status of hardware / software requests. Submit and manage RMAs for return or exchange of equipment. Assist local IT team to schedule vendor(s) to remove obsolete equipment and initiate disposal process.

Position Summary
  • Receive IT equipment delivered to Information Services, including logging received equipment, verify their contents, ensure they match purchase order, storing it securely, conducting periodic inventories and logging distribution.
  • Track asset utilization and ensure assets not in use are recovered, inventoried, relocated, or disposed of in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage the movement of equipment between locations including generating shipping labels and researching shipments as needed.
  • Initiate equipment repair, shipping them to manufacture and monitor their status for repair and/or replacement.
  • Maintains and develops processes for check in and check out of loaned equipment.
  • Maintain and manage stockrooms, submit order requests for network equipment and PC accessories to maintain stockroom inventory levels up to date and apply FIFO methods when assigning assets.
  • Conduct inventory and provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly asset reports.
  • Responsible for following, supporting, and enforcing all internal control processes and procedures.
  • Work closely with multiple departments to support IT operations.
  • Assist with hardware removal/decommissioning in the local office.
  • Assist in other job duties as determined by the Manager of IT Operations.

Technology Solutions Development and Deployment

Understand the information security implications of our technology solutions and ensure they comply with the Information Security policies and processes.

Provide basic level end-user support in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of all technologies located within assigned office or region including, but not limited to laptop and desktop computers, network servers, printers and peripherals; Microsoft operating systems and applications, and basic network devices including switches and routers.

Work with the local IT Management and senior BTS professionals to effectively implement standard corporate technology solutions to meet business objectives.
Actively participate in regional conferences and other BTS meetings.

Understand the information security implications of technology solutions and ensure they comply with the Information Security Plan.

Functional Processes
Has a basic understanding of company processes and technology solutions.
Works with the local IT Management and senior BTS professionals to use previously defined processes and appropriate application of technology to support the department's objectives.
Participates on internal audit exercises, DR and BCP exercises, and coordinate efforts to attain and maintain regulatory compliance

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Communications
Contribute actively to department- and company-level communication forums.
Proactively manage communications with the Regional IT Operations Managers, office users, and other BTS professionals.
Provide documentation to support the appropriate use of corporate solutions.
Assist with the development and compliance of BTS policies and processes.

Provide feedback within the BTS group regarding the implementation, support and on-going efforts of technology solutions.

Vendor Relationships
Establish and maintain positive working relationships between corporate business units and our technology partners.
Work with our technology vendors to continually improve the tools available to us.

Assist senior BTS professionals in maintaining positive working relationships between Global Payments and our technology partners.

General Background and Minimum Requirements
Degree preferred, in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
2 to more years of experience in IT asset management or related roles.
Experience with asset management tools is also essential for this position.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to interface with a variety of technical and business personnel with courtesy, tact and diplomacy.
Solid communication skills (both oral and written) to direct, organize and communicate with others.
Some experience installing, configuring and supporting Laptop/Desktop computer hardware, monitors, printers and peripherals.

Experience with building,packaging, installing,deploying and repairing desktop software and hardware systems utilizing Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Jamf Pro, IBM BigFix, or other packaging tool is a plus.
