About the Role
The Logistics Associate (Automotive and Maintenance) is responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding equipment conditions and mechanical needs. This proactive role focuses on minimizing downtime through efficient repair coordination, leveraging warning systems to anticipate breakdowns, and ensuring all maintenance documentation is meticulously maintained.
Core Responsibilities- Coordinate with repair shops and roadside services to minimize downtime for customer loads and drivers.
- Research local repair shops and services to coordinate cost-effective and timely repairs.
- Provide authorization for minor repairs and preventive maintenance services to approve providers promptly to maintain optimum customer service.
- Track, report, and relay service information for all preventative maintenance, APU service, Reefer service, and annual inspections services.
- Initiate, audit, and sustain all truck and trailer maintenance files in all necessary systems.
- Alert the Maintenance Coordinator of any issues that may arise from audits of the truck, trailer, and maintenance files.
- Code all Maintenance invoices by truck, trailer, and service performed.
- Enter all maintenance invoices in the Transportation Management System.
- Alert the Maintenance Coordinator of any issues that may arise from audits of the truck, trailer, and maintenance files.
- Coordinate, order, and sustain decals for all equipment.
- Participates in driver orientation to explain driver responsibilities and steps for reporting maintenance and breakdowns.
- Understand and execute proper procedures for overages, shortages, and damages.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Communication: Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written) for coordinating with drivers and vendors.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of truck maintenance and general logistics.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and general office software (Outlook, Teams).
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to handle fast-paced breakdown scenarios.
- Soft Skills: High level of proactiveness, diligence, and the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
