Qualifications
  • 1 to 3 years of experience as a Referral Coordinator in a healthcare setting
  • Experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical insurance plans and authorization processes
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Friendly and professional demeanor with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to type at least 55 words per minute
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple referrals and tasks simultaneously
  • Warm, friendly, and professional communication style with patients
  • Highly organized with the ability to track multiple referrals at once
  • Reliable team player committed to patient support and care coordination
Responsibilities
  • Process and manage patient referrals to specialists and ancillary services
  • Submit and track insurance authorizations and referral requests
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies on referral status
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete and accurately submitted
  • Follow up on pending referrals and authorization requests
  • Document referral activities in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Provide professional assistance to patients regarding referral inquiries
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure continuity of patient care
