Position Summary
The Academic Head is responsible for leading the overall academic operations by ensuring the delivery of high-quality English language and IELTS review programs. This role oversees curriculum development, faculty management, quality assurance, student learning outcomes, and continuous academic improvement.The Academic Head ensures that all academic programs align with international standards while supporting the academy’s mission of helping students achieve their target English proficiency and IELTS band scores.

Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
Lead and manage the overall Academic Department.
Develop and implement academic strategies aligned with the academy’s goals.
Establish academic policies, standards, and best practices.
Ensure consistency and excellence across all academic programs.
Curriculum Development
Design, review, and continuously improve IELTS and English language curricula.
Develop lesson plans, learning modules, assessments, and instructional materials.
Ensure curriculum alignment with current IELTS standards and industry best practices.
Introduce innovative teaching methodologies and learning technologies.
Faculty Management
Recruit, interview, onboard, and train instructors.
Conduct regular classroom observations and teaching evaluations.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development for faculty members.
Monitor instructor performance and recommend improvements.
Quality Assurance
Ensure high-quality instruction across all programs.
Monitor class delivery, teaching effectiveness, and student engagement.
Conduct academic audits and ensure compliance with institutional standards.
Maintain consistency in instructional quality across all classes.
Student Success & Performance
Monitor student academic performance and progression.
Analyze assessment results and recommend intervention strategies.
Develop improvement plans for students requiring additional support.
Ensure students receive timely academic guidance and feedback.
Assessment & Examination
Oversee diagnostic tests, quizzes, mock examinations, and final assessments.
Ensure assessments accurately measure learning outcomes.
Review examination quality and scoring consistency.
Academic Operations
Prepare faculty schedules and class assignments.
Coordinate class openings, academic calendars, and program delivery.
Ensure smooth implementation of all academic activities.
Collaborate with Operations to maximize resource utilization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Marketing in developing academic content and promotional materials.
Support the Admissions Team by participating in orientations and academic consultations.
Coordinate with Student Services regarding learner concerns and academic support.
Reporting & Analytics
Prepare regular academic performance reports.
Analyze student achievement, faculty performance, and program effectiveness.
Present recommendations for continuous improvement to management.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English, Linguistics, Communication, or any related field.
Master’s Degree is an advantage.
Experience
At least 5 years of teaching experience in English language education or IELTS preparation.
At least 3 years in an academic leadership or supervisory role.
Experience in curriculum development and faculty management is highly preferred.
