The HR Generalist is responsible for managing various human resources functions, including recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, administrative HR tasks, and offboarding processes. This role involves supporting the HR department in executing day-to-day activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor regulations, and fostering a positive work environment.
The HR Generalist plays a key role in hiring and onboarding new employees, maintaining accurate HR records, coordinating performance appraisals, and organizing employee engagement programs to enhance workplace morale. Additionally, they assist in exit management, ensuring smooth transitions for departing employees.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. The HR Generalist works closely with managers and employees to implement HR best practices and support business objectives effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding- Assist in sourcing, screening, and selecting qualified candidates
- Conduct initial interviews and coordinate with hiring managers.
- Prepare job offers, employment contracts, and pre-employment requirements.
- Facilitate the onboarding process, including orientation and training of new employees.
- Maintain recruitment records and ensure compliance with hiring policies.
- Organize employee engagement activities and programs to enhance workplace morale.
- Promote company culture and values through initiatives and events.
- Conduct employee feedback surveys and analyze engagement trends.
- Address employee concerns and facilitate conflict resolution.
- Assist in the implementation of performance appraisal systems.
- Coordinate performance reviews and provide feedback to employees.
- Support managers in setting performance goals and tracking progress.
- Identify training and development opportunities based on performance reviews.
- Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and personnel files.
- Process HR-related paperwork (e.g., leaves, resignations, clearances).
- Manage HR systems and databases for efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Process final pay and clearances of departing employees.
- Ensure proper handover of responsibilities from outgoing employees.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends in employee turnover.
- Provide feedback to management on retention strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or any related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably as an HR Generalist or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of Philippine labor laws, HR practices, and employee relations.
- Experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and performance management.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the food and beverage or hospitality industry is an advantage.
