CHIEF TECHNICIAN
REPORTS TO: Technical Head
JOB SUMMARY:
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic communications equipment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Examines premises, plans and specifications to define work procedures, estimate costs and requisition needed materials equipment.
o Assigns duties to workers requisitions materials, tools and supplies.
o Inspect assembled, installed or repair equipment, like transmitters and receivers, power and telephone line carriers to verify conformance to company standards government regulations.
o Tests electronic installations using testing apparatus.
o Reviews work orders, trouble reports and equipment records for completeness accuracy.
o Prepares daily operating reports summarizing labor, materials, and equipment charges for work performed.
o Make sure that broadcasting equipment works correctly.
o Supports and provides technical advice/information on principles and applications associated with design.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
o High technical aptitude to maintain and operate station equipment, as well as communication and management skills to oversee technical teams.
o Registered professional Engineer Technician
o Specialized in broadcasting field, such as radio or television
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
o Graduate of BS Electronics and Communication Engineer (ECE), Electronics Technician (ECT) or General Radio Communication Operator
o With seven years experience in communications systems installation, maintenance, repair and public safety communications.
o Possess excellent interpersonal skills, multi-tasking and can work under pressure.
