About You

The Junior Insurance & Claims Officer supports the day‑to‑day operations of the Insurance & Claims function by assisting in the processing and tracking of seafarer‑related P&I claims, preparing and organizing claims and insurance documentation, coordinating requirements with internal teams and external parties, supporting HMO‑ and CBA‑related activities, and handling routine administrative and logistical tasks assigned to the Insurance & Claims function.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in the day‑to‑day handling of P&I‑related claims involving seafarers (illness, injury, disability, death, and employment‑related cases).
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external parties such as P&I Clubs/correspondents, medical clinics, port agents, government offices, and seafarers’ families for claim‑related requirements.
  • Assists prepare, track, and file claim documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Assist in handling stevedore and stowaway‑related incidents, including documentation & record maintenance.
  • Maintain insurance records and support insurance‑related processes such as applications for coverage, monitoring vessel voyages to conditional trading areas, and checking related invoices.
  • Support the administration and monitoring of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) matters, as instructed by management.
  • Assist in HMO administration for seafarers, including enrollment, card issuance, invoice checking, reimbursements, and preparation of payment requests.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for company‑approved social programs for seafarers and their families.
  • Perform other administrative and support tasks assigned by the immediate superior.
Qualifications
  • 4-year university/college degree, preferably business-related courses.
  • Preferably with:
  • With maritime crewing operations experience or exposure
  • With knowledge of the P & I and Claims matters
  • With knowledge of marine insurance certificates
  • Have excellent understanding of inter-human relations.
