DESIGN MANAGER (WATER SOURCES & FACILITIES)

1. Manages the delivery of engineering design of CAPEX projects in accordance with specified quality, cost, time frame and acceptability as prescribed by the company by:

1. Regularly monitoring the progress of Projects being handled by the respective WSF and BD Design Units and the Consultants;
2. Reviewing the completeness of the CAPEX Project Plan endorsed by PMD Planning and Support;
3. Ensures the accurate and timely preparation of the Technical Bidding documents such as Terms of Reference and Employer’s Requirements for Design and Build, and Contract Drawings, General Scope of Works, Schedule of Prices and Measurement and Payment for engineering design of a WSF and BD, as required;
4. Manage and monitor the deliverables of Consultants of outsource design projects;
5. Manage the billings of Consultants of outsource design projects;

1. Ensures accurate and timely support of the Section to the other units of the division by:

1. Regularly monitoring the Transactions being handled by the Section in accordance with the Service Level Agreement;
2. Ensure to provide all necessary support during the FEED process
3. Review the Technical Evaluation of the following once endorsed to the Section:
4. Bid Proposals;

1. Checks technical response to Contractor and other Stakeholder's request for information (RFI)

1. Conducts field investigation and construction review; ensures adherence to designs, project specifications, and scope of works of proposed projects.
2. Manages the preparation of engineering service order contracts and monitors the output and billings of outsourced engineering consultants;
3. Ensures review of design services management policies and relevant operational procedures and work instructions;
4. Provides assistance in the review and updating of the Maynilad Standard Technical Specifications and Standard Drawings, and participates with the Technical Working Group (TWG) in the deliberation of new or revised standards;
5. Enhances the skills of the Section members by:

1. Conducting a knowledge transfer session from the consultant to the PMD employees;
2. Arranging learning sessions with the different divisions of the Company;
3. Nominating the Section members to different trainings vital to their roles;
4. Conducting a post mortem review of finished projects together with the unit members;

1. Hires, appoints, appraises, promotes, discipline or dismisses subordinate employee in accordance with company policies;
2. Does other related engineering and management tasks as may be assigned;

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Licensed Engineer (preferably Chemical Engineering)

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least seven (7) years total working experience in process engineering and/or plant operations with at least five (5) year of related work experience in supervision/ management.

• Possesses analytical and technical competency related to the job
• Excellent leadership, with strong sense of responsibility, decision making, integrity and delegation skills.
• Excellent in oral and written communications.
• Familiar with international or local safety standards.
• Knowledge in office software such as AutoCAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc.
