COMMIS I PASTRY
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, breads, and desserts according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Assist in daily mise en place, including measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients for pastry production.
- Ensure all pastry items are presented attractively and consistently before serving or display.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, workstations, and equipment at all times.
- Monitor freshness and proper storage of ingredients, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Support senior pastry chefs in developing new dessert items and seasonal menu offerings.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance or repair needs immediately.
- Assist in inventory checks, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to help control food costs.
- Follow kitchen schedules, production timelines, and instructions efficiently during service and events.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely delivery of pastry products.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a hotel, café, restaurant, or bakery.
- Strong knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques, and dessert presentation.
- Ability to manage kitchen operations, inventory, and food cost control effectively
- Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to develop new pastry concepts and seasonal desserts.
- Excellent leadership, teamwork, and time management skills with attention to detail.
