Monitors customer service levels and counsel employees with alternative methods of responding to customer requests.
Ensures that employees receive the training necessary to provide “Only the BEST for our Guests!” service.
Determines customer delight level and needs by reviewing comment cards and talking to customers regularly.
Provides staff with the skill training to be able to provide value added service to customers.
Performs other duties as required
Hotel Operation
Oversees Engineering operations, plant room operation, Shift Engineers.
Primarily responsible for maintaining the efficiency and availability of a continuous 24 hr. engineering personnel services that responds to all engineering related requests and complaints requiring immediate attention, such as guest complaints, function and meeting needs and assistance, telephone generated complaints, work order system request, emergency calls.
Reviews and analyzes daily operation log.Analyzes readings and instrument accuracy; relates operation data to performance to ensure economical operation of facilities; discusses and/ or Maintenance Engineer for corrective action.
Supervises and coordinates with the Service Managers, Service Leaders and other lower grade personnel for repair and maintenance.
Estimates costs and make fix assets of all equipment and tagging all equipment
Calls for quotations and liaises with outside contractor.
Takes charge the works in the absence of the Asst. Chief EngineerConstantly reviews and maintains complete instruction manuals, prints and engineering information files.
Compiles operation log sheets and logbooks.
Conducts daily inspection of running machines, prepares service request for all deficiencies as missing or faulty gauges, loose belts, noisy bearings, excessive vibration, dirty or dark machine rooms, dangling wires to be concealed and other defects and coordinates corrective actions
Ensures cleanliness of all machine and control rooms especially electrical rooms
Tagging of breakers and determining the loads of the equipment for safety purposes
Energy and Utility Management
Responsible for developing shutdown and switching schedules for energy conservation purposes. Sees to it that these schedules are implemented strictly and saving on energy and utilities are realized.Constantly checks hotel utility equipment and lighting to ensure no wastage of energy.
Checks, maintains, follow-up all items in the Shift Engineers logbook.
Budgeting / Cost Control
Assists in the operation of annual budget of the department, checks budget realization at regular intervals, and see to it that any variance is satisfactorily explained.Prepares project cost estimates for renovation and upgrading work assigned by his superiors.
Ensures that special upgrading projects assigned to him do not exceed the approved budget.
Safety
Responds and is available for any call by superior or colleagues during emergency trouble or calamity; stays in the hotel as standby force to aid in emergency troubleshooting and operations.Assists and facilitates and supervises work of engineering contractors; ensures safety to men and property.
Issues tag clearances to ensure/facilitate work of maintenance staff and contractors, thereby avoiding and mal-operation.
Ensures all FDAS and Fire Equipment are all operational and good running condition. Sprinklers, emergency lights, firefighting equipment are reliable and available.
Preventive Maintenance
Prepares and implements preventive maintenance schedules of all hotel guestrooms and public areas.
Customer Relations
Ensure fast, accurate and reliable processing of the service request system.
Ensures that all downtime is spent for repairs to avoid guest complaints and promotes productivity
Property Management
Regularly reviews, records and updates his superiors of the structural stability of the hotel building and golf academy and grounds.Ensures the architectural and structural engineering information systems are readily available on file thru constant update.
Coordination
Coordinates with reservations, housekeeping and other departments concerning guest complain, schedules of routine, preventive or upgrade maintenance works and ensures out of order schedules are followed.Acts as coordinator of all contracted projects ensures information on schedules are well disseminated to concerned parties, with minimum of downtime as main criteria.
Personnel Administration
Recommends for management action in formulation of personnel and other management policies and administer such established procedures with respect to the employees within the element and/or initiate action involving hiring, transfers, suspensions, discharge, assignments, promotion, reclassification, merit ratings, including disciplinary actions in accordance with established company regulations
Inventory and Spare parts control
Ensures that all Hotel and Golf Equipment Operations have parts to spare for emergency use
Make parts and consumables inventory for proper purchase and stocks of all equipment and consumables.
General Responsibilities
Other Duties
Leads and Champions achievement of goals of the Engineering Department.
Follows through all actions required by the General Manager and Higher Position lower than your level
Takes appropriate actions on all matters related to building maintenance, preventive maintenance, as well as operation of all equipment in the Hotel.
Liaises with suppliers and contractorsEnsures that repair and maintenance activities are carried out and taken care of.
Assesses manpower requirements.
Acts immediately in guest comments and complaintsControls utilities supply on a daily basis.
Plans and implements a preventive maintenance system to try and achieve zero defects for all equipment in the hotel.
Practices and role model the guiding principles and the core values of Quest Hospitality.
Be environmentally friendly, reduces wastes, recycles when possible, and reuses whenever applicable.
Attends morning briefing in the absence of Chief/Asst. Chief EngineerCOMPANY POLICIES and PROCEDURE: Adheres to the provisions outlined in the Employee Handbook, Disciplinary Code and Rules and Regulations.
ATTENDANCE: Adheres to the set procedures for attendance and timekeeping.
GUEST RELATIONS:
As assigned and at all opportunities, assists guests directly and indirectly in order to resolve problems and provides them a delightful experience in the Hotel.
LOST and FOUND: Fully aware of and complies with lost and found procedures at all times.EMERGENCY RESPONSE: Possesses full knowledge of emergency procedures and ensures all staff are aware them at all times.
EQUIPMENT CARE: Ensures proper care and maintenance of equipment in the area of assignment.
GROOMING AND HYGIENE: Adheres to specified hygiene and personal appearance standards of the hotel.
TRAINING AND EMPLOYEE ACTIVITIES: Attends scheduled training and participates in company-initiated employee activities.
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS: Is fully aware of and complies with the Hotel’s Environmental Policy and established rules and guidelines.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES: Practices the guiding principle in day-to-day interaction.
Performs such other functions as may be delegated by management from time to time.
