Job Summary:

We are a UK-based Managed Service Provider (MSP) seeking a skilled and customer-focused 2nd / 3rd Line Helpdesk Engineer. This role is a key escalation point for technical issues, responsible for resolving complex support tickets, maintaining patch compliance, and assisting with Microsoft 365 and endpoint management.

You’ll work closely with our Cyber Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure secure, efficient, and reliable IT operations across internal and client environments. Fluent written and spoken English is essential for clear communication with customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support & Escalations
  • Act as an escalation point for 1st and 2nd line engineers, resolving complex technical issues.
  • Provide remote and occasional on-site support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and applications.
  • Troubleshoot issues across Microsoft 365, Windows, and endpoint environments.
Microsoft Cloud & Endpoint Management
  • Support and maintain Microsoft Intune configurations, device compliance, and application deployment.
  • Assist with Entra ID (Azure AD) user and group management, MFA, and Conditional Access.
  • Monitor and manage patching across customer environments using Intune and other tools.
Customer Configuration & Documentation
  • Review and maintain customer configurations to ensure alignment with best practices.
  • Document solutions, SOPs, and technical processes clearly and accurately.
  • Provide input into improving service delivery and operational efficiency.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with Cyber Security Engineers to escalate and support incident response and remediation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional, helpful attitude.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a 2nd or 3rd line IT support role, ideally within an MSP.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune, and Windows endpoint management.
  • Experience with patching, compliance, and troubleshooting across Microsoft environments.
  • Excellent written and spoken English for clear communication and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MD-102, MS-900, AZ-104).
  • Familiarity with Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Microsoft Defender.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Understanding of ITIL practices and service desk operations.
