  1. Job Summary

The Area Sales role is responsible for driving sales growth, managing key accounts, expanding market coverage, and ensuring the effective execution of sales strategies within the assigned territory. The position ensures consistent product availability, proper merchandising, and achievement of sales targets aligned with company KPIs.

  1. Key Responsibilities
 A.  Sales & Revenue Generation
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned area.
  • Implement sales strategies, trade programs, and promotions to maximize revenue.
  • Monitor sales performance of distributors, wholesalers, and key retail accounts.
 B.  Market Coverage & Execution
  • Ensure effective route planning and regular market visits.
  • Track product availability, pricing compliance, and merchandising standards.
  • Conduct competitor monitoring (pricing, promotions, activations, new products).
 C.  Account Management
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with distributors, retailers, and key accounts.
  • Review distributor inventory levels, sell-in/sell-out, and order forecasts.
  • Coordinate with logistics for timely delivery and resolution of stock issues.
 D.  Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly sales reports.
  • Analyze performance gaps and recommend corrective action plans.
  • Monitor trade returns, expired products, and proper documentation.
 E.  People Management (if supervisory level)
  • Coach, guide, and monitor sales representatives / merchandisers in the area.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and on-the-job evaluations.
  • Ensure proper implementation of company policies and disciplinary standards.
 F.  Trade Marketing Support
  • Execute in-store activations, displays, and promotional activities.
  • Validate implementation of marketing programs based on market needs.
  1. Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related course.
  • At least 1–3 years experience in sales (FMCG preferred).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and account management skills.
  • Knowledge of distributor management and retail trade operations.
  • Proficient in MS Office or sales reporting tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
