Your Role as Payroll Administrator

As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing and ensuring the accurate and timely management of employee compensation, statutory obligations, and compliance with relevant Australian regulations.Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing
  • Prepare and process payroll inputs including onboarding updates, bank transfers, cost allocations, and payroll reports.
  • Liaise with external agencies such as the Australian Taxation Office and the Child Support Agency to coordinate relevant payments.
  • Ensure timely completion of ABS surveys when required.
  • Review and validate approved timesheets for accuracy.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring all changes are accurately recorded and properly authorized.
  • Administer novated leases for wage employees through NLC.
Statutory Compliance
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports and returns, including but not limited to Superannuation, Long Service Leave, Incolink, Payroll Tax, and PAYG.
  • Monitor and ensure proper coverage of employee entitlements.
Workers Compensation
  • Maintain accurate personnel records to mitigate organizational liability.
  • Ensure correct salary payments for employees, including top-ups and compliance with EBAs.
  • Coordinate with WCVR Managers, Site Safety Officers, and Project Managers for effective claims processing.
Administrative & Financial Support
  • Update accruals and provide necessary data support to relevant teams.
  • Process and authorize medical invoices for payment.
  • Assist with account reconciliations and ensure understanding of company costing methods.
Continuous Improvement & General Duties
  • Actively identify and implement process improvements within payroll and administration.
  • Work collaboratively within a small team to foster a positive and productive environment.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety standards and promote a safety-first culture.

Tools & Systems:

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • JDE (JD Edwards) Applications
  • Familiarity with other relevant payroll and reporting systems
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Proven experience in payroll processing, cost allocation, and reconciliations
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively present and communicate information
