Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to manage the end-to-end payroll process for our company. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, including salaries, bonuses, benefits, and deductions, in compliance with company policies and Philippine labor laws.

This mid-level position is based in Cebu and requires the ability to handle payroll administration for a growing workforce.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Payroll Processing: process and calculate monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy in salary, overtime, bonuses, and other compensation components.
  • Compliance: ensure compliance with local tax laws, government regulations, and
  • company policies regarding employee compensation.
  • Deductions & Benefits: manage employee deductions, statutory contributions, and benefits such as 13th-month pay, leave credits, and health insurance.
  • Record-Keeping: maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including timesheets, attendance data, and employee information, in compliance with data privacy laws and company confidentiality policies.
  • Reporting: prepare and submit required payroll reports to government agencies (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR) and management, including providing payroll reports to the Accounting Department for recording, reconciliation, and financial reporting purposes.
  • Employee Support: address payroll-related inquiries from employees, resolve discrepancies, and provide payslips in a timely manner.
  • Leave Management: track employee leaves (sick, vacation, emergency, etc.) and ensure they are accurately reflected in payroll.
  • Audit & Reconciliation: assist in the reconciliation of payroll-related accounts and assist in payroll audits when necessary.
  • System Management: utilize payroll software to streamline processes and ensure data accuracy.
  • Collaboration: work closely with HR and Accounting teams to align payroll processes with company policies and budgeting requirements.
  • Process Improvement: identify opportunities to enhance payroll efficiency, such as automation or improved workflows, and implement best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience: proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Administrator, or in a similar role in a company of similar size (50-100 employees).
  • Knowledge: strong understanding of Philippine labor laws, payroll processing systems, and tax regulations.
  • Technical Skills: proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office or GSuite, particularly Excel or Sheets.
  • Attention to Detail: exceptional accuracy in calculations and data entry, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Confidentiality: ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Organizational Skills: strong time management and organizational abilities to meet strict payroll deadlines.

Work Arrangement:

Initially a mix of work-from-home (WFH) and office-based work. The position will transition to fully office-based work if necessary, depending on business needs and team requirements. The change will ensure better collaboration, communication, and efficiency within the team as the company continues to grow and operations evolve.
