Job Summary:

The Accounting Assistant (Accounts Payable) is responsible for supporting the finance team in managing and processing company payables. This role ensures timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, proper documentation, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper approval before payment
  • Prepare and issue payments (checks, bank transfers, online payments) in a timely manner
  • Maintain organized and updated accounts payable records and files
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or billing issues
  • Monitor due dates and ensure all obligations are paid on time
  • Assist in month-end closing by preparing reports and schedules related to payables
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal departments regarding payment concerns
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and government regulations (e.g., BIR requirements)
  • Support audits by providing necessary documents and reports

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience in accounts payable or general accounting is an advantage
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial processes
  • Familiarity with accounting software and MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
