Business Development Director - Financial

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth and expanding the company's presence within the Philippine financial services industry. This role focuses on developing strategic partnerships with banks, digital banks, e-wallet providers, and fintech organizations by identifying business opportunities, leading solution discussions, and managing enterprise sales engagements.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in financial technology, digital transformation, and solution selling, with a strong network within the Philippine banking and fintech ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead business development initiatives and market expansion efforts within the Philippine financial services sector, with a primary focus on banks, digital banks, e-wallet providers, and fintech organizations.
  • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with senior executives, decision-makers, and key stakeholders across financial institutions to generate new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify customer business needs and recommend technology-driven solutions, leading solution presentations, commercial negotiations, and project engagements.
  • Drive enterprise sales activities from lead generation through contract negotiation and deal closure while achieving assigned sales and revenue targets.
  • Monitor industry trends, BSP regulations, digital payments developments, fintech innovations, and the competitive landscape to identify emerging business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal product, technical, and delivery teams to develop customized solutions that address client requirements.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking activities to strengthen market presence and expand business relationships.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and account plans to support business growth objectives.
  • Foster long-term client relationships through strategic account management and ongoing business development initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Philippine financial services industry, with involvement in banking digital transformation, digital payments, digital banking, e-wallets, fintech, or related initiatives.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Business development, digital transformation, payments, IT, innovation, or related functions within banks, digital banks, or e-wallet providers.
  • Sales, project management, account management, or client relationship management within fintech companies such as BPC, Pine Labs, Lydian, Tookitaki, or similar organizations.
  • Sales or business development experience within cloud and technology companies such as Google Cloud, AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, or comparable technology providers.
  • Strong understanding of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) regulations, digital payments, and fintech industry trends in the Philippines.
  • Existing relationships with financial institutions and access to senior-level decision-makers within the banking or fintech ecosystem are highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently build, manage, and maintain relationships with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in complex solution selling and enterprise sales engagement.
  • Good understanding of financial technology, digital payments, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing, and enterprise technology solutions.
  • Excellent business development, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with local and international teams.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, and capable of driving business growth in a highly competitive and fast-paced market.
