Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze requests to determine needed information, and assist in furnishing or locating that information.
- Search standard reference materials, including online sources and the internet, to answer patron's reference question.
- Plan and teach classes on topics such as, library instructions and technology use.
- Review and evaluate materials, using book reviews, catalogues, faculty recommendations and current holdings, to select and order print, audio-visual and electronic resources.
- Explain use of library facilities, resources, equipment and services and provide information about library policies;
- Respond to customer complaints, taking action as necessary;
- Take charge of the daily operations of the Library;
- Recommend to Immediate Head the ways and means of improving Library facilities.
- Prepare and follow up materials for repairs.
- Update instructional materials and help teachers and students in the operation of reading and non-reading instructional materials and;
- File requisitions and recommendations of instructional materials needed for the library.
