Business Development Manager for Digital Products

Role Overview
The Business Development Manager for Digital Products is responsible for driving product innovation and building new digital business opportunities from concept to execution. The role focuses on developing and shaping product ideas, working closely with external partners to gather client requirements, negotiating business opportunities, and ensure alignment with market needs.
This position requires the ability to source and manage external resources necessary to bring ideas to life, translating client needs into clear, actionable requirements. The role acts as the bridge between business vision and execution, ensuring that ideas are effectively developed, validated, and positioned for commercial success.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams
- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand market presence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and industry benchmarking
- Lead contract negotiations and close high-value deals
- Lead business model design, ensuring ideas are translated into viable, scalable businesses
- Generate, evaluate, and validate new digital product or service concepts
- Define project scope and capture detailed requirements from internal and external partners
- Develop business cases, feasibility studies, and go-to-market strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Innovation, Marketing, Operations, Tech) to drive product development
- Do not directly manage developers, but provide clear requirements, priorities, and success criteria
- Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with defined scope and business objectives
- Provide necessary approvals and direction throughout the build phase
- Ensure timely delivery and alignment with commercial goals
- Analyze business performance and identify growth opportunities
- Track KPIs related to revenue, partnerships, and product success
- Prepare executive reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates
- Support leadership in long-term strategic and innovation planning
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in business development, product strategy, or innovation roles
- Proven experience in business model design and launching new digital products/services
- Strong understanding of market analysis, financial modeling, and commercial strategy
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments
- Ability to translate business ideas into structured requirements and executable plans
- Product development for insurance or a similar industry is an advantage.
