Junior Accounting Associate

Reporting To: Senior Accounting Associate / Tax Manager

Job Description

The Junior Accounting Associate provides foundational support in accounting, taxation, and regulatory compliance for individual and corporate clients across various industries, including SEs and SMEs.

This role focuses on the accurate execution of accounting tasks, assisting in financial reporting, and supporting BIR tax compliance—ensuring timely and accurate submission of regulatory requirements.

Working under the guidance of senior team members, the position offers meaningful exposure to Philippine taxation and serves as a strong foundation for professionals pursuing a career in accounting and tax compliance.

• Assist in handling assigned individual and corporate client accounts (SEs and SMEs)
• Maintain accurate accounting records and organize compliance documentation using QuickBooks
• Support company registration, amendments, renewals, and regulatory filings (BIR, SEC, PEZA, BOI)
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including: Trial Balance, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of schedules and reconciliations
• Assist in the computation of taxes and preparation of BIR tax returns and supporting schedules
• Support the preparation and timely submission of tax compliance requirements (e.g., VAT, percentage tax, withholding taxes)
• Help prepare compliance submissions and coordinate with government agencies (BIR, SEC, PEZA, BOI), ensuring completeness and timely filing
• Assist in audits, tax reviews, and regulatory inquiries by providing required documentation
• Communicate with clients to collect necessary records and provide updates on tax filings and deadlines
• Perform administrative and ad hoc accounting tasks as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Financial Management, Management Accounting, or Accounting Information Systems
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting or tax experience
• Basic understanding of Philippine taxation, particularly BIR compliance and reporting requirements
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate level)
• Strong attention to detail, especially in handling financial and tax data
• Willingness to learn and develop expertise in taxation and regulatory compliance
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team

• Hands-on experience in BIR tax compliance (VAT, percentage tax, withholding taxes)
• Exposure to preparation of BIR returns and supporting schedules
