Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily activities of the department and manage the general accounting functions including but not limited to: sales, receivable, payables, disbursements, payroll, fixed assets, general ledger and taxation to ensure transactions are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
  • Establish and develop internal controls, systems and procedures that increases accuracy and efficiency.
  • Review effectiveness and drive the continuous improvement of end to end accounting practices and internal control policies.
  • Performs monthly closing procedures.
  • Supervise the preparation of periodic financial reports, account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax laws, GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform periodic tax planning.
  • Perform audits of accounts to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
  • Responsible for managing the financial condition of the company in order to promote success and growth while maintaining legal financial practices.
  • Responsible for budget management and monitors budget performance through budget comparison reports and investigate causes of variances.
  • Assist other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business.
  • Provides financial analysis related to capital investment, pricing decisions, contract negotiations and others to assist management in decision making.
  • Finding ways to reduce or maintain costs by analyzing financial reports and business processes.
  • Continually identify risks assessment and propose effective solutions.
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
  • Performs other jobs and tasks as directed by the Dept Head and/or VP/COO.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • With minimum 5 years progressive working experience with leadership roles in a hospitality, manufacturing or related business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel and accounting software
  • Excellent ability to problem solving along with solid analytical skills, understanding of the business process and systems optimization.
  • Ability to review data and make relevant management decisions.
  • Strong financial system and business administration understanding.
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management in multiple areas
  • Strong organizational and leadership skill
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written
  • Preferred a Resident in Northern Cebu and/or willing to relocate to Carmen, Cebu.
