ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Basic Purpose/Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic ACCOUNTING MANAGER to lead our accounting operations in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the general accounting functions, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.Experience in retail accounting, including inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and multi-location operations, is essential.
Job Description:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes and ensure timely financial reporting.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Supervise and develop the accounting team, including training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
- Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of inventory, sales, and COGS across all store locations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, procurement, sales) to support business decisions.
- Monitor internal controls and compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes.
- Analyze variances and trends in financial performance, including margins, expenses, and profitability.
- Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Evaluate and improve accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- With more than 5 years of accounting experience, with full knowledge of general accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, taxation, and budgeting.
- Prior experience in the retail industry is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting.
- Experience with inventory accounting, point-of-sales systems, and ERP/ accounting software (e.g., SAP, etc.)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment
- Experience with multi-location retail operations
- Familiarity with sales tax and retail-specific compliance requirements
- Knowledge of retail KPIs (e.g., gross margin, shrinkage, turnover ratios)
- Must be willing to work in Ortigas Center, Pasig City
Work Schedule: Mon to Fri, 9:00 am to 7:30 pm, Hybrid setup
Work Arrangement: Mon - WFH; Tue to Fri - onsite
