Accounting Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Result Areas:

Financial Management:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable & general ledger.
• Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Prepare Financial Statements and other reports that the management may require.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, including at least one Supervisor, to ensure efficient workflow and professional development.
• Delegate tasks and provide guidance to ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
• Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate ongoing training for staff.

Compliance and Auditing:

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving audit findings.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.

Finance Functions:

• Cash flow management, Proper scheduling of expense disbursements and payments to suppliers and other creditors.
• Provides list of weekly disbursements for funding to Finance.

Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems for increased efficiency.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with senior management to support business strategies and financial goals.
• Closely coordinate with the Finance Manager for budgeting & payments schedule.
• Communicate with external stakeholders, such as auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies, as needed.

Performs such other tasks and functions as may be assigned from time to time.
