Job Information
Job Description- Machinery Lubrication: The core of the job. They ensure all moving parts of the main engine, generators, and pumps are properly oiled and greased to prevent mechanical failure.
- Watchkeeping Support: Assists the Officer of the Watch (4th, 3rd, or 2nd Engineer) by making regular rounds. They check gauges, monitor temperatures, and listen for unusual noises in the machinery.
- General Maintenance: Cleans engine components, paints machinery, and assists officers with heavy repairs, such as pulling pistons or overhauling pumps.
- Engine Room Housekeeping: Responsible for keeping the engine room floor plates and bilges clean and free of oil spills to prevent fire hazards and slips.
- Bunkering & Transfers: Helps connect hoses and monitor tank levels during fuel or lube oil loading.
- Tool Management: Maintains the workshop, cleans tools after use, and assists in moving heavy spare parts using chain blocks or cranes.
Skills and Qualifications:
AT LEAST 18 MONTHS OF EXPERIENCE AS OILER
WITH OR WITHOUT VALID US VISA
HOLDING VALID DOCUMENTS
