Position Summary

A Batching Plant Accountant is responsible for managing and monitoring all financial transactions related to batching plant operations. This includes production cost tracking, inventory monitoring, billing, cash handling, and ensuring accurate financial reporting to support plant management.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Recording & Reporting
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports (production, sales, expenses, cash position).
  • Maintain accurate records of receipts, disbursements, and financial transactions.
  • Reconcile cash collections, bank deposits, and payment vouchers.
Inventory & Production Monitoring
  • Track raw material inventory (cement, aggregates, admixtures, fuel, etc.).
  • Monitor daily batching production reports and validate actual output vs. system records.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Record material issuance and consumption used for concrete production.
Billing & Collection
  • Prepare sales invoices, delivery receipts, and batching plant billing documents.
  • Verify delivery tickets and ensure correct posting into the accounting system.
  • Coordinate with clients for billing schedules and monitor accounts receivable.
  • Ensure timely collection and proper documentation of payments.
Cost Control & Expense Monitoring
  • Check and validate plant expenses (repairs, supplies, fuel, manpower).
  • Process vendor payments and maintain payable records
  • Prepare payroll for plant staff and drivers
  • Monitor operating costs and assist in cost analysis and budgeting.
  • Ensure all expenses are supported by proper documentation.
Compliance & Audit Support
  • Ensure adherence to accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Prepare records for audits and assist auditors during review.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports and other ad hoc reports as required.
  • Maintain organized filing of financial and operational documents.
Coordination & Administrative Duties
  • Work closely with batching plant personnel (plant supervisor, dispatch, logistics).
  • Communicate with the corporate accounting department and related affiliates for report submission.
  • Assist in payroll preparation for plant personnel (if assigned).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in construction, ready-mix concrete, or manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems/software (e.g., SAP, Accumatica or ERP).
  • Proficient in MS Excel and strong analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented, honest, and able to work with minimal supervision.
